I Need A Fix

an animal fix. Ok, I know not fair you guys also need an animal picture fix. I have narrowed some down and am working on a whale of a tale. But, in the mean time; I need to see some wildlife.

When we arrived off of the ferry we drove around and kept seeing signs about deer. My thought this is going to be like the Utah signs watch for eagles on road. I’ve been through Utah a few times and have only seen one eagle on road. He flew away before I could get a picture.

Back to this trip, saw no deer the first night so the plan was drive down to Victoria and maybe see if the orcas are still in the harbor. No luck, but, I did see a few gulls, a blue heron, and of course ravens. Planning to go back with long lense today.

Following is what I saw and captured on film yesterday.

This little guy was being chased by some ravens watched him for a few until he ran up a tree. The deer was just walking through a neighborhood.

When we got home I saw the piece de resistance a moth

Day 12 Fort Nelson BC to Toad River BC

All I can say about today is MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE.  The campsite we have at Toad River is right across the lake from where the moose hangs out I have picturesmoose1tr

That was taken with my 38x optical zoom camera from 200 yards.  Amazing animals.  On our way up at Stone Mountain I saw Mountain Goats while Roy was watching the curvy downhill road.  We started off the morning with cinnamon buns at a place famous for them in Tetsa River.  Got here early today was Canada day so to all my Northern friends enjoy.  I wore a red shirt with eh? on it in honor of the day.  This place is so peaceful, although no cell service.  Never new how much I texted til I can’t do it.  We are here for tomorrow night so I will work on more pictures.

Day 10 Another Day of Rest

I could get used to this.  We kinda of wimped out.  Roy and I did not want to boon dock yet.  I think we have had quite the adventure so far.  So we are taking today to get dishes done and Roy is putting the bra on the car.  This is one of the last big cities we will see for awhile.  I might even do laundry, I know I am taking a shower again tonight.  We will have two nights of roughing it later in the trip.  We also wanted to stay for a free BBQ at the chamber tonight.

Day 9 Edmonton to Grande Praire

I saw a MOOSE COW so technically it was still a cow.  We were outside of Wabanum when we saw her, Roy thought it was a cow and I thought it was a horse.  By the time we realized it was a moose to late to stop.  We then were driving to Grande Praire via 22 we stopped for lunch.  Guess where A&W these restaurants are like McDs in the states.  We got back on the hwy and maybe a mile down the road we see this black thing with cute little ears, a young black bear.  Yes too late to stop again.
We arrived at Grande Praire earlier then most days, because they had a free town tour bus we wanted to go on.  It was also early enough and the showers were free we both grabbed one.  The free internet not so good.  All in all good day.
